Greetings, I have been planning a trip to Guinea this Winter to study dr mming and dance through Moustapha Bangoura and his learning program. I first found out about this trip after purchasing his DVD's Tinkanyi 3 & 4 which are Guinea Dance Instructions. For this past 'throwback Thursday' I was on the African village vibrations and I came across a clip of the drummers from Toubakouta, Senegal. This area is a popular destination that sits right between Kaolack and The Gambia. I was told a style of Sabar played with Djembe is called Sabar Wolof. I’ll have to do more research or ask some friends but regardless the combination of Djembe, Djundjuns, and Sabar is spectacular! Check this out!
